Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Reactions, Ep. 1-5

ericadawn16 alerted me to an older anime series yesterday called Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok (Loki gets banished to modern-day Japan in the form of a kid, and must figure out what he did to get that punishment while fighting off assassination attempts by other gods), and it seems like just the type of series to do reaction posts for!

Due to the length of the title, I'll be shortening it to MDLR in future posts.

Episode 1

- This reminds me strongly of Black Butler, except lighter in tone (And Yamino isn't near as great a butler as Sebastian, although he seems to have the same cooking skills!)
-Mayura's colouring is making me suspicious. Her hair and eye colours stand out from everyone else around her, especially compared to Loki's more normal brown hair and green eyes. Plus, light-coloured hair and red eyes are usually used as an indicator of a supernatural being in other anime series, but she seems completely normal. Well, aside from being a mystery freak.

Episode 2

- Thor not having blonde hair and blue eyes is really throwing me off. I mean, a blonde character pops up in episode 5, so it's not like blonde hair would to too out of the question. His character design is so generic that I initially assumed he was just another a character-of-the-week for Loki to help.
- OF COURSE Mjölnir would disguise itself as a wooden sword!

Episode 3

- Heimdall, why are you a kid? Surely you could have picked a better disguise for yourself? (at least your hair and eye colour mark you as a god, unlike Thor)
- ....hateshipping Heimdall/Loki now. Oops.
- It's nice to see Romi Paku play a villain for once!

Episode 4

- Awww, little Mayura is so cute! Her mom seemed like a nice person too!

Episode 5

- Frey, have you been taking tips from Kaito Kid on how to plan your robberies?
- it's nice to see Takehito Koyasu in a non-villain role, especially with how much of a dork Frey is
- Still shipping Heimdall/Loki
