fleetsparrowChristmas is my favorite holiday. Its got joy, its got lights, its got music--what could be better!
This year I wenta little fucking crazy deep into the Christmas music archives, adding as many Christmas songs and albums to my single streaming playlist as possible. It now sits at an overwhelming amazing 1,594 songs for a total of 79 hours and 5 minutes!
There are so many songs I had never heard before adding them. Many of my favorites from that bunch were written in the '60s, when Christmas music and lore were not so set in stone as we seem to think of them now. (Even Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a modern invention, he of the Montgomery-Ward catalogue. But I digress.)

Snowflake Challenge 5: Wishes and Wishes
18/1/26 22:36fleetsparrowI always feel like wishlists are so hard for me to create. They feel a lot like asking for help, another thing I have a terribly hard time doing. Yes, this is something I'm currently working on in therapy. How is that going? Haha, don't worry about it.
But, in the interest of Putting Myself Out There, here is a wishlist:

A Reckoning of Swords 11-18
18/1/26 01:47kallowayNot much actual reckoning this week. Too busy with mostly work and then recovering from mostly work. ^^;;
I did finish RG Justice, who is very detailed and very handsome! He's with his gaming buddies on my tray table right now, but I need a slightly better place to set him/that group up since they'll be an evolving display for a bit. Perhaps it's time to repurpose the mangar for a bit, or at least that space...
Justice is, for now, not sporting his backpack because it is Very Heavy and also just kind of all-around awkward. There's one piece I may need to put a dot of glue on through no fault of anyone. I also think it might be time to change out my main panel line markers.
First, I should clean off my desk...

18/1/26 11:55nansliceLast week, I cut my finger pretty deeply while making food, and missed two days of work trying to give it time to heal (I bathe dogs for a living; I did not want to be sticking an open wound into dirty dog water). The third day, a dog broke my glasses and I had to leave early (I was able to mend them).
Yesterday, I woke up very sick, probably with the same punishing cold Will has. My job is pretty lenient about calling out, but gosh do I hate doing it this often. ;o; It always makes me nervous. My boss is super understanding but I don't want to take advantage of that. Oh well. ;3;
I'm painfully behind on Snowflake Challenge, to absolutely no one's surprise; I did the first one and stopped. XD; There are some that I want to go back and do, but I doubt I'll actually catch up. But that's okay! I want to do the animals/pet one. Speaking of which, I bought Dale's 4x2x2 (120 gallon) terrarium! It looks like it'll be a pretty easy build, and I have several things to add to it (although there are definitely more things I want to add, like some of the climbing vine, some fun rocks/slate, things like that. I'm hoping to get it built today, if I'm feeling better in the afternoon.
I read the first book of the Uriel Ventris series, Nightbringer, and it was delightful; Ventris is an adorable, pious, little murder machine, and I'm pretty sure literally every man he met wanted to top him. I immediately bought the second volume on thriftbooks (a lot of "older" Black Library books are out of print, so I have to search for them as well as be willing to part with more than a little bit of moola). We already own the third book (Will bought it a little while ago) so that should keep me busy for a while. I'm a very slow reader. XD;
This morning I went out, coffee in hand, to sit on the back step. It was very cold but peaceful. I heard the first birdsong of the day. <3 I'd read about how people with ADHD need to sit in the moment sometimes, no screens, no texts, nothing like that, and just allow themselves to be. It was very nice and I think I should start more days like this.
This post is very disjointed bc it was written between a couple of days. I hope it all makes sense. ♥
