I love the internet <3
5/5/13 20:55Yesterday I discovered that the internet has a wonderful collection of old comic books from the 1940's and 50's available on it, all for free and most of it in the public domain. I'm now a fan of Dardevil (not the Marvel superhero, this one is from 1941), and had great fun reading the issue where he beats up Hitler and co. last night. I don't know if anyone will care, but I shall provide links to the things I found:
Archive.org's Webcomic Universe collection
Comic Books Plus' Public Domain Comics (free sign-up is required to download anything, but not to read online)
The Digital Comic Museum (similar set-up as above, and while there is some overlap with Comic Book Plus, both sites do have different content)
Fury Comics Golden Age Comic Book Viewer (read online only)
My advice would be to pick a title or character that looks interesting and dive right in! I apologize in advance for anyone who happens to get hooked.
