moon_blitzHello Yuletide Author! Thanks in advance for writing me a story in one of these awesome fandoms! I love them all dearly, so I’m sure I’ll love whatever you write. Also, this is my first year doing Yuletide, so if I ramble in this letter, I apologize.
Since there’s a good chance we don’t know each other in fandom, here’s a quick list of things I like and don’t like in the fic I read.
Things I love: well-crafted plots, character studies, fluff, AUs, romance
Things I hate: gore/detailed descriptions of violence, major character death, rape, a/b/o stuff

Danball Senki
Characters requested: Hanasaki Ran, Jessica Kaios, Uzaki Takuya, Yagami Eiji, Zaizen Sousuke, Gouda Hanzou, Hiyama Ren, Sendou Daiki
I adore everything about Danball Senki - the plot, the awesome battles, the characters, the growth most of them go through, and even the LBXs themselves. Ban and Jin seem to get most of the attention in the fic that’s out there, so I’m happy that the lesser-focused characters get nominated. As far as ships go, I do have a few: Yagami/Zaizen is my favourite, but I also ship Ren/Takuya, Jessica/Ran, and Gouda/Sendou.
I’d love to see some backstory and/or family fic for the characters who didn’t get that explored in the anime. What do they do in their time off? (including any family members who appear in other series would be awesome too!) What did everyone get up to in the year between the first series and W (or between W and Wars)? And I’m also open to AUs - I love feudal Japan AUs, for instance.
Sword Art Online
Characters requested: Andrew Gilbert Mills | Agil, Tsuboi Ryoutarou | Klein, Ayano Keiko | Silica Shinozaki Rika | Lisbeth
Why I love this fandom/characters: There’s ton of potential in SAO fic, especially since the first arc is mostly from Kirito’s perspective and there’s a large timeskip involved. Anyway, I love the series for the concept and for the characters themselves, since we see a wide variety of characters and get a look of how different people reacted to being stuck in a death game. I only really ship Kirito/Asuna, but if you want to go an AU route and make Kirito/Klein happen, I won’t complain!
I’d really like to see how the characters I nominated got to their respective positions prior to SAO being cleared. Did they find it difficult or easy moving forward in the game? Why did they choose to become who they were at the end of the game? Or you could go the AU route - how would have things have turned out if Kayaba hadn’t trapped everyone inside the game?
I would also like if you didn’t pair Silica or Lisbeth with Kirito, since I hate the idea of their love/feelings for him not being acknowledged.
八犬伝 -東方八犬異聞-| Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East
Characters requested: Inue Shinobu, Inuzuka Shino, Inumura Daikaku, Inusaka Keno
Why I love this fandom/characters: Hakkenden is one of those shows that grabbed my interest right from the opening scene and kept it until the very end. The cast is so diverse in both life experiences and personalities that I want to see more of them now that the anime has ended. My main ship for the series is Shino/Shinobu, so I would be very happy if you wrote about them, even if it’s about their friendship rather than a relationship. Daikaku/Keno would also be cool, too.
Although we got a taste of everyone’s backstories in the anime, there wasn’t a whole lot of digging into what makes each character tick aside from Shino - how do Shinobu, Daikaku and Keno feel about their lives and respective powers/abilities? What are their long-term goals or plans? I’d also like to see everyone interacting more, since the later additions to the group didn’t really get to bond with the others prior to the battle at the church. What do they think of each other? Maybe they go on a big adventure together and get into trouble?
I’d rather not read about Shino/Ao though, since I’m not a fan of Ao or that particular pairing.
有頂天家族 | The Eccentric Family
Characters requested: Benten | Suzuki Satomi, Ebisugawa Kaisei, Shimogamo Yasaburou, Shimogamo Yajirou
Why I love this fandom/characters: The setting was what really got me hooked on the show, and then I grew to love the characters and how they relate to each other. Everyone is just so interesting that I wish we had gotten more different point of views aside from Yasaburou’s, since I feel there’s a lot to be explored in this world. Yasaburou/Kaisei is my main ship, but I won’t object to Yasaburou/Benten.
What interests me most is the contrasts and parallels we see in the story. Benten was born as human, but she calls herself a tengu while at the same time participating in human activities like the Friday Fellows. Yajirou was born a tanuki but became a frog, at least for the duration of the anime. Some exploration of those character would be awesome, since it feels like the story only scratched the surface of them. Post-anime fic would be great too, especially if there was a focus on Yasaburou and Kaisei’s relationship.
Motive
Characters requested: Brian Lucas, Oscar Vega, Angela Flynn, Betty Rogers
Why I love this fandom/characters: I love this show because from the very first episode, I felt like I was stepping into an ongoing story where the main cast knew each other and had formed relationships with each other prior to when the series began. I love each character for different reasons - Lucas for his earnest desire to be a good detective, Vega for his humour and witty remarks, Flynn for her sense of justice and friendship with the rest of the cast, and Betty for being able to pull off some amazing outfits at crime scenes and her ability to find humour in dark places. My ship for this show is definitely Angela/Betty, but I’ll be very happy if you just want to focus on their awesome friendship.
Since the show gave us plenty of cases to follow along on, I’d love a fic that focuses on the cast themselves and how they interact with each other both inside and outside of work. Do they do anything like a movie night or dinner out as a group? How did everyone meet? A story dealing with the fallout of the end of season 1 would be great too, especially if you want to write something with some angst in it.
